I guess I’m just looking for the best of the worst  (for now… anyway) You’ll always see bad for any webhost, (in your example it was only 1 guy complaining about a Support response time, and 50 other people rejecting the “scenario”, not personal experiences with Host Monster.Īnd I’m willing to accept a bit of dirt  JT Thompson - I realize that all “cheap” webhosts are generally considered crap or untruthful. PXLated - is there a host in particular you’re referring to for $10/month? Thanks Nevin! I appreciate your response!īut wouldn’t you still say the control panel is still lacking? Although, like I said, the Support completely makes up for that part of it. I have touched on this in other threads recently so will stop here… I rather like the idea of being able to select the server side functions we want based on other performance/stability and security factors, no cPanel, Ensim, and the others are useless in this type of setup. Well being cPanel can’t be used in a true load-balanced hosting environment, and you are forced into using all of the server side technology THEY choice for you to run your servers on, no not really an option. (control panel is… well… VERY lacking - but that’s made up for with the Support) cPanel? 😛

I tend to lean towards ‘you get what you pay for’ and like I said, sites that have to lie in order to get your businesses are usually telling you something.

if you site is small, and not trafficed in a big way you’d probably be fine. On the flipside here, if you don’t pay for long term hosting, it can’t hurt you just to test them out. This site is huge, and though they think they are the end all be all of hosting forums, take this with a grain of salt. I couldn’t find anything close ot an acceptable use policy (which is a flag by itself) and nothing mentioned in the ToS they know that almost nobody will use that, and their agreements most likely allows them to cancel anyone that could. The resource allocation they’d give you couldn’t possibly use anywhere near that level of space/traffic. In my opinion if they’re going to start out lying to you, how will their regular service be once you sign up? I’d stay away from ANY company offering 300GB of hard drive space and 3terabytes of traffic for 6 bucks per month (notice you have to pay for 2 years to even get that).
